Canon: Evaluation

Evaluation of editing the first front magazine cover design For the first front cover, I knew that I wanted to add a collage of different locations. The reason for this was that I knew that it would be different compared to other Canon campaign magazines, and I wanted this one to stand out compared to their previous ones. I also knew that my overall theme for this Canon campaign was going to be about travel, so I wanted to make sure that the majority of the information was about travel. I also knew that I wanted "Shoot your travel" to be a constant theme in my designs as it is a masthead that I created and fits really well with what I am creating. I wanted this to be the first information people see when they pick up the magazine and putting it in the middle made this effect. I also wanted to take into consideration that my audience is 15-25 I had to make it appealing for my age group in all of my designs. I wanted this design to inspire people to take pictures while they go ...

Canon: Final product & feedback

Image
Responses and feedback from the first front magazine cover design These responses are about what they like about the design. These are positive responses and they talk about what they like about the design. The first response is about the layout of the images. I am glad that my audience likes the layout of the pictures as I wanted one to be the background and I wanted four different locations in the photo collage.  I like how they like the layout and they understand what the front cover is about and how it fits well with the Canon Journey campaign.  This response tells me that they like the design of my front cover and there is nothing that they don't like whether this is the position of certain information on the front cover.  This is good feedback as I did put a black shadow around the text that is on the beach but the font must not have made it separate from the beach colour and white text. For this reason, I am going to change the colour to black as I want people to b...

Canon Post - Production Diary

Getting images organised The first task I did was finding images I wanted to use from previous holidays I have been on. As I had already gotten the pictures it meant that I did not need to go and get any of them. But I did go and get one of the sunsets at Sunderland Roker beach. I took this picture in case I wanted to use it for people to see how nice the sunset is in my local area. The way I organised and figured out which pictures to use was to see what I wanted to create and how I wanted everything to be layered out by using a flat plan.  The creation process of magazine front cover design one I made a flat plan design of what I wanted to include and where I wanted everything. This really helped me as it meant that I knew that I might have some space to add some more designs that would make the front cover interesting and this is what I actually did.  Even though I did not plan out some of the most important parts of the magazine on the flat plan sheets it did not restrict ...

Production: Main project

Image
The editing process of a magazine cover one Adding a beach background colour The first part of the magazine front cover I started was the background. This is because I knew that I wanted a beach as it is the most relaxing part of a holiday. I knew that I wanted a picture of where you could see some of the beach but most of the waves. This is because people can do water sports such as surfing, jet skiing and more relaxing boat trips.  Adding collage of different locations The second part of the magazine cover I started was to make the photo collage from the pictures I had chosen. The reason why I did this was that I knew that it was going to be the focal point of the magazine. I chose four different pictures from different places around the world. I did this as travel can mean what you want it to indicate whether that is going abroad or going down to your local beach and area. All four pictures resemble this as most of the pictures are from abroad but one of them is in the city I li...

Canon pre - production: Logistical elements

Resource list This is the resource list, I have added all of the equipment needed. I don't need a lot as I already have the pictures that I need for my front cover already but I have this equipment in case I needed them. I also used this type of equipment when I was taking these pictures. As I own all of this equipment it means I can take images whenever I need to which is helpful.  Personnel list As I am the only one working on this project it means that I am responsible for all of the jobs needed to create this project. This means that I would need to use time management if I don't it could mean that I could overwork myself and I would feel pressure and stress. Contributors release form   I am the only one who is doing this project, which means that I don't need any background actors. Also as this is a front cover about Travel it means that I wouldn't need anyone as I would just want locations or tourist spots on my front cover.  Location release As my front ...

Canon Pre-production: Creative elements

Creative ideas for magazine cover one Background image - A beach that has mostly waves in the picture. This is because I think that a beach reminds people of going on holiday and being in the sun.  Main images  - I  want the main image to be a small collage of the different places I have been to (4 different images). I want this to be in the middle left of the cover. This is because I can add some text on the right side of the cover. The pictures I want to include are of tourist spots, beaches and some relaxing places. I like these pictures to allow places where you can take a picture. This is because it would inspire people when they go away to do the same and it is various places as most places have a beach for example. Smaller image - This image is going to be a Canon PowerShot sx730hs camera. This is the one I personally use and have shoot some of these pictures on. This camera is great for travelling as it is small and compact.  The colour scheme - It is goi...

Evaluation

Evaluation for editing the podcast The reason I edited the podcast like this was that I knew that I wanted to add text to show the questions and the important information. This was important as if people who are watching the podcast would know what type of information is more important and could imply to them. I also knew that keeping the podcast simplistic was important as having loads of text and pop-ups that I had before the feedback made the podcast look more like a YouTube video. I also knew before editing the podcast that I needed it to be chatty and keep in all of the information that was needed, as a podcast is about talking. As my audience is 16-20 years old I thought that this style of editing would fit well.  Overall I am very happy with the final product of my podcast. I have added everything I wanted to add and more. I had a vision of what I wanted the podcast to look like when we were filming it as I could see what I could add to the edit. This really helped me...
