Canon Pre-production: Creative elements

Creative ideas for magazine cover one

Background image - A beach that has mostly waves in the picture. This is because I think that a beach reminds people of going on holiday and being in the sun. 

Main images - I  want the main image to be a small collage of the different places I have been to (4 different images). I want this to be in the middle left of the cover. This is because I can add some text on the right side of the cover. The pictures I want to include are of tourist spots, beaches and some relaxing places. I like these pictures to allow places where you can take a picture. This is because it would inspire people when they go away to do the same and it is various places as most places have a beach for example.

Smaller image - This image is going to be a Canon PowerShot sx730hs camera. This is the one I personally use and have shoot some of these pictures on. This camera is great for travelling as it is small and compact. 

The colour scheme - It is going to be based on the beach location and I want it to be on a nice hot day with blue skies. All of the other information such as text colour is going to be based on the background image.

The Masthead - The position of where the masthead is I want it to be at the top in bold. This is because I want people to see the heading before they look at anything else. This is because I want it to stand out. The masthead is going to be 'shoot your travel' and this is going to be consistent throughout the different designs.

Font/style/size - The font I want to be serif font for the 'masthead' as I want it to be easily read as I want people to notice the masthead before anything else. I also want the serif font as it is fancy but still easy to read. For the masthead I want it to be in big font as I want it to stand out. 

For the smaller text, I want it to be the medium size as I want it to be easily readable but not as big as the 'masthead'. I want the font to be san-serif as I don't want it to look fancy. 

Bar code - The bar code will be positioned in the bottom left corner. This is because most magazines have the bar code at the bottom left. 

Price/date/magazine website/issue number - All of these are going to be at the bottom left and it is going to be near the bar code.


Creative ideas for magazine cover two

Main image - I want the image to be the background image of the magazine cover. This is because it makes the style of the front cover different to the first one I would have created. 

Smaller image (overlay) - This image is going to be a Canon PowerShot sx730hs camera. This is the one I personally use and have shoot some of these pictures on. This camera is great for travelling as it is small and compact. 

The colour scheme - This is going to be based on the image of the background. This is because I want to pick colours that make it easy to read. I still want the colours to be bright but also to stand out. I am going to add a shadow around the text to make it stand out as well as have bright colours. 

The masthead - I want 'shoot your travel' to be in the middle of the page. I want this to not cover any important aspects of the image. This is because even though the image is going to be the main focus, I also want the masthead to be a focus as well.

Font/style/size - The masthead is going to be in a sans serif font as I want it to be easily readable I want people to notice the masthead after they have noticed the background. 

Subheading - I want it to be the medium size as I want it to be easily readable but not as big as the 'masthead'. I want the font to be serif font. 

Bar code - The bar code will be positioned in the bottom left corner. This is because most magazines have the bar code at the bottom left. 

Price/date/magazine website/issue number - All of these are going to be at the bottom left and it is going to be near the bar code.

Creative ideas for print advertisement

Main image - The main image is going to be the background of the magazine. This is because this one is based on one place I have visited. 

Smaller images (overlay) - There are going to be three smaller images along the bottom of the magazine's front cover. 

Colour scheme - The colour scheme is going to be white as the background image is going to be bright colours as it was shot during the day. 

The masthead - I want this to be the top middle of the front cover as I want to be a lot of the background image shown. 

Font/style/size - The masthead is going to be in a sans serif font as I want it to be easily read I want people to notice the masthead after they have noticed the background. 

Subheading - I want it to be the medium size as I want it to be easily readable but not as big as the 'masthead'. I want the font to be serif font. This text is going to say the name of the places and what the iconic place is called. 

Flat plan designs


These are my flat plan designs for all three designs. I have made them all unique from each other. I have made two different types of magazine front covers, this is because I want them to look unique from each other. 
The advertorial is going to be based on one location this is going to be Dubai. This is because I have been there more than once and I have done amazing trips. I have also seen amazing buildings that are incredible inside and outside.  

Overall I wanted to make these designs different from each other and to add different images whether they are from different locations or they are just from one location.

Production: Main project

  Starting editing process for podcast During the Christmas break, I started editing the podcast. I started importing the two clips and putting clip 1 onto the editing track. I went through the clip and added text for each question, with different templates for it to look appealing. I also throughout the editing process was cutting out some of the long pauses to make the podcast flow better. As I was going through the clip I was thinking about what I could add to make the podcast more engaging for views on YouTube. This would consist of zoom-in, text, music, and more. Some of the clips would fit with a certain style of editing and engagement to make the video flow. The overall vibe of the podcast is to make important information less serious so people who struggle with fitness and health, in general, would make them feel less stressed about what information we are talking about. Canon pre - production: Logistical elements

Resource list This is the resource list, I have added all of the equipment needed. I don't need a lot as I already have the pictures that I need for my front cover already but I have this equipment in case I needed them. I also used this type of equipment when I was taking these pictures. As I own all of this equipment it means I can take images whenever I need to which is helpful.  Personnel list As I am the only one working on this project it means that I am responsible for all of the jobs needed to create this project. This means that I would need to use time management if I don't it could mean that I could overwork myself and I would feel pressure and stress. Contributors release form   I am the only one who is doing this project, which means that I don't need any background actors.
